Plzensky Prazdroj - Velke Popovice brewery

In November 2002, the Velke Popovice brewery exceeded the one million hectolitre barrier for beer produced in one year for the first time. This was added to the 43.5 million produced since 1874. The extensive investment in increasing the brewery's capacity and quality of beer opens the path to further records.

The Velke Popovice brewery dates back to the fifteenth century, although the actual development of brewing in the region is bound up with the business activities of the Ringhoffer family at the end of the nineteenth century. The first brew in the modern-equipped brewery near Prague was produced in 1874.
