Quality Guidelines

Plzensky Prazdroj, a. s. and Pivovar Saris, a.s. are building and developing their business on the basis of strategic vision, goals, commonly shared values and principles which reflect these companies' leading positions on the Central European brewing market and the responsibility that goes with it. These derive from the credo of the parent company SABMiller, which applies the principles of quality, efficiency, safety and common responsibility in all areas of its extensive activity. This policy is part of the strategic vision and values and is designed to help implement them in certain defined areas - quality, work safety and environmental protection.

Plzensky Prazdroj, a. s. and Pivovar Saris, a.s. consider it their priority to satisfy the needs of their customers and to constantly improve their results, as defined by a set of objective quantitative and qualitative indicators. This objective is backed up by a unified management system which includes the principles "world class manufacturing", quality control system - ISO 9001, environmental protection system - ISO 14001 and the HACCP system ensuring that food products do not contain any unhealthy elements.

The policy of quality, work safety and environmental protection in Plzensky Prazdroj, a. s. and Pivovar Saris, a.s. is governed by the following principles, which concern the specific tasks of the companies' departments:

  • Consistently observe the relevant local, national and international legislative requirements.
  • Apply procedural management - documentation of procedures, definition of legal powers and responsibilities of all employees.
  • Emphasise prevention in quality control in the widest sense of the word.
  • Control quality directly in each division, not only in specialised departments and by the staff responsible: All employees are responsible for quality and for preventing variances with stipulated qualitative parameters.
  • Apply the principle of constant improvement and rising quality indicators.
  • Use clearly defined Production Standards for production management.
  • Use internal audits, goals and programs as an instrument for improvement.
  • Understand variances with stipulated parameters and their remedy as an opportunity for improvement.
  • Reduce losses of all kinds.
  • A guarantee of quality and its prioritising over quantity is an essential part of customer services.
  • Create a dignified, safe and healthy work environment for company employees.
  • Support team work, personal development and regular career growth for employees.
  • Observe the companies' ethical code.
  • Use common sense in resolving work tasks and situations.
  • Risk management - regularly monitor, identify, assess risks and reduce their possible impact by means of specific quality control programs, environmental protection and prevention of grave emergencies.
  • Support suppliers who are governed by acknowledged principles of quality and environmental protection systems.
  • Cooperate with suppliers in improving the quality of raw materials and services.
  • Constantly review questions concerning genetically modified raw materials with regard to customer perception and interests.
  • Train employees to have consideration for the environment, as shown by:
    - using chemical agents with the minimal impact on the environment,
    - reducing the consumption of dangerous substances,
    - reducing the amount of waste and emissions,
    - supporting the ecological disposal of waste,
  • Use materials that can be regenerated and recycled.
