Brewery tour

Welcome to the Pilsen brewery, the birthplace of the most famous beer in the world, Pilsner Urquell!

In the mid-nineteenth century the Pilsen brewery instituted a revolution in brewing. For the first time in history beer was produced as we know it today - the bitterish beverage with a golden tinge and snow-white head.

Today, the brewery is a lively and dynamic place linking the traditional production process of Pilsner Urquell beer with the most modern brewing technologies. It has become a unique industrial monument, attracting not only experts and lovers of good beer.

• Modern packaging plant - the most modern packaging plant in the Czech Republic, with a capacity of 120,000 bottles an hour

• New Pilsner Urquell exhibition - film on the production of Pilsner Urquell beer in a panoramic cinema with a revolving auditorium, sensory exhibition of raw materials, historic brewhouse from the beginning of the 20th century

• Brewhouse - the unique production procedure for Pilsner Urquell beer

• Hall of Fame - the brewery's most important exhibits

• Cellars - tasting of filtered and non-pasteurised Pilsner Urquell directly from the barrel (for persons over the age of 18) beer

Brewery tours are in Czech, English, German, Russian, French, Spanish and Italian.

Tour times for individual visitors without a prior appointment:

Monday - Sunday from 10.30, 12.30, 14.00 and 16.00 hrs (Czech)
Monday - Sunday from 10. 45, 12.45, 14.15 and 16.15 hrs (English)
Monday - Sunday from 13.00 and 14.30 hrs (German)

Notice!!!

Since 1st September 2009, we offer a new programme Brewing - A Successful Czech Industry . For individual visitors under the age of 18, the tour of the brewery involving a visit to the beer production premises is accessible only upon consent of the person´s parents or of another legally competent adult who is personally in charge of these underage persons for the whole duration of the brewery tour. We recommend to person under the age of 18 (e.g. primary and secondary schools, children or junior sporting clubs, etc.)  to take part in the Programme "Brewing - A successful Czech Industry" programme, the tour of the Brewery Museum or of the Pilsen Underground.
