University students are getting practical experience during interships at Plzeňský Prazdroj

„Cooperation with universities is extremely important to us and it helps us to identify the biggest talents in a group of students. We offer them precious work experience and we also look for future employees. In the future, it promises to be even harder to find the right people in the job market, so the most effective form of cooperation with future employees will likely begin at the university level. The fact that a renowned company like Prazdroj is looking for students is a big plus and gives us a lot of students to choose from,“ says Vojtěch Zuzaňák from the Human Resources Department at Plzeňský Prazdroj.

In the first round, Plzeňský Prazdroj received a total of 150 resumes and cover letters from which it selected 100 interesting students. In the next round, those 100 students took a test to evaluate their intellectual abilities. Twenty–five of them proceeded to interviews with the Manager and Assistant Manager of the Human Resource Department.  Finally, the 10 best candidates were offered 3 month internship positions with Plzeňský Prazdroj.  Three female interns and five male interns will work in Prague in commercial teams such as brand marketing, sales and distribution, business finance, department of key accounts or channel marketing. Two students will participate on a project in Plzeň for effective use of the cooling system and reuse of heat.

Prazdroj usually accepts students who are close to graduation, who can utilise their acquired knowledge in real life situations. Each intern works on his/her own project which is supposed to bring concrete results. At the end of their internship, students will present their results to upper management of the company.

„I  am very happy that I was given the opportunity to work at Plzeňský Prazdroj. I believe that through the internship I will gain valuable experience which will be the foundation of my professional life,“ stated Markéta Machová, student at UofE, Prague.

The seasonal work will not only test the professional quality of these talented students, but it will also show how candidates fit in the corporate culture at Plzeňský Prazdroj. Interns who posses the best qualifications will be offered a full time position at Plzeňský Prazdroj, which will start after graduation. As new employees, they will pass through a round of individual sections of the company, and will have the opportunity to work in the filing room or as sales representatives, to name a few.

As an important employer, Plzeňský Prazdroj works closely with numerous universities. This spring it finalised a long–term cooperation with the Institute of Chemical Technology Prague, Department of Beer research and Department of Public Relations.
