„We appreciate not only all sportsmen who reach for their successes in a spirit of fair play but also all of their fans,“ Pilsner Urquell Brand Manager Jan Šolta said. „Before the commencement of the Olympics, we entered into an Olympic Contract that symbolically binds the upholding of true values. Part of the contract stipulates that the fans too will celebrate Czech medals, and so we have promised that for each Czech gold success, we will invite all sports fans for a beer,“ Jan Šolta explains.
If any Czech Olympic athletes take home the gold, fans can look forward to celebrations during which kegs of Pilsen beer will be rolled out in 300 pubs all around the Czech Republic. „There is reason to celebrate yet. We had great hopes for kayaker Štěpánka Hilgerová, but unfortunately it did not happen,“ Šolta said. „Our next medal hopeful is rower Ondřej Synek. We hope his fans are doubly rewarded with a gold medal and liquid gold as well,“ Šolta said.
The list of restaurants where the celebrations of Czech Olympic team medals will occur can be found at www.spravnehodnoty.cz. Fans can also join the Olympic Contract there. For each signature, Pilsner Urquell will donate one crown (1 CZK) to the Dana and Emil Zátopek Foundation.
