Pilsner Urquell Gallery Offers Lessons in Beer Draughting as an Original Christmas Gift

6.12.2013 Pilsner Urquell

An original Christmas present – The School of Beer Draughting Pilsner Urquell – is being offered by the original gallery and brand store Pilsner Urquell, U Lužického semináře 11 on Mala Strana in Prague. ”Fans of good beer should not miss the opportunity to learn how to draught a half-litre of Pilsner properly under the watchful eye of our experts. Many of them have no idea what tiny little details may influence the taste of the beer during draughting: from absolute cleanliness of a beer glass to various techniques of brewing. Come to learn secrets of bartenders’ craft and enjoy a good Pilsner in our cellar,” Pilsen brewmaster Václav Berka said.

During the hour-long programme, participants may expect a guided tour of the Pilsner Urquell history exposition showing its 171-year-long history and the importance of world beer brewing tradition and also details about its unique brewing procedure and its first-class raw materials. Guided by an expert, during this lesson in beer draughting, you will learn about correct principles of draughting. But mainly you will learn how different styles of draughting – surface, Spruz, water-goblin, or milk – may strongly influence the taste of beer a customer prefers. The price of the programme is 200,- CZK (about 10.00 USD) per person and dates available to individual visitors can be found at www.galerie.pilsner-urquell.cz/zazijte.
