Engraved Beer Glasses Were Hit of Last Christmas. People Are Already Placing Orders for Valentine’s Day

For three years in a row, Pilsner Urquell Gallery hasoffered beer gifts via its e-shop as well as in brewery gift shops. After evaluating the interest in beer-themed gifts, it is clear that the hit of last Christmas were half- litre beer steins engraved with personal messages. The second most popular gifts were traditionally branded Pilsner Urquell, Gambrinus, and Velkopopovický Kozel double-steins. Sets of glasses and pucks from each individual extra-league hockey club also pleased fans of Radegast beer and hockey. These presents were most often ordered on the e-shop by women. With its 50,000 visitors, the e-shop saw double the usual traffic on the site before Christmas. Hundreds of orders were processed during the days preceding Christmas.

And with Valentine’s Day coming up, the interest in gifts with beer motifs has not decreased. On the contrary, from the most recent evaluation it is clear that engraved glasses have become the inspiration for the upcoming feast for those in love, and people are having some very personal messages written on them.

„A fabulous beer belongs with a beautiful glass so that it can be perfectly served. And if there is a personal message from someone dear engraved on the glass, its value is even greater. During Christmas, the messages on the glasses often reflected the relationships between the receivers of the glass and our beer, and now, for Valentine’s Day, dedications are gentler and mostly proclamations of love,“ says Tomáš Raboch, manager of Pilsner Urquell Gallery in Prague.

From the Pilsner Urquell Gallery in Malé Strana, Prague, one of the gift shops at the breweries or right from your home via the e-shop, you can select the perfect glass, from classic half- litres to elegant glasses, and order a personal message of 50 marks or less to be engraved on it by an artist. If ordering via the e-shop of Plzeňský Prazdroj and having the gift mailed via postal services, customers are guaranteed to receive the gift for their beloved before Valentine’s Day if the order is placed before January 31, 2014
