7.9.2006 Uncategorized

The fire in a lodging house for foreign labourers, which broke out on Thursday, 7th September, 2006 before noon, in a remote area of Plzensky Prazdroj premises, was successfully fought. An ambulance transported one labourer with burns and one worker, who was injured jumping form the window. They were medically treated. Despite all efforts, resuscitation of one of the labourers the fire fighters rescued from the burning house was unsuccessful.

The building is occupied by employees of a company hiring foreign labourers for the distribution. This company leases the building.

The incident was immediately reported to Plzensky Prazdroj’s Managing Director, Mike Short, who is on a business trip abroad.

“I am deeply sorry about this tragedy. I will personally see that the incident is investigated and relevant measures taken“, said Managing Director, Mike Short.

In the following days, causes of the incident are going to be investigated and damages calculated.

The fire squad commander has expressed appreciation concerning an outstanding cooperation with Plzensky Prazdroj’s volunteer firemen unit.

Since the fire broke outside the production area of the brewery premises, neither production nor distribution have been affected.
