Motorcycle 500-Mile Bohemia for the First Time in Bohemia

Bikes of all kinds come to Pilsen from west Bohemia twice a year on May 1 and on the feast of St. Wenceslas to open and to close the season together. This year, one more meeting will be added, the Harley Davidson meeting, as part of the „500 miles of Bohemia.“ Bikes do not compete. They simply enjoy together the preset 24-hour, 500-mile long trip throughout Bohemia.

The first bikes will probably arrive around 9 a.m. The main group will then be arriving between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. The participants of „500 miles of Bohemia“ do not have to belong to any club nor do they have to be members – they just have to ride a Harley Davidson/Buell bike.

To prevent competition, the organisers will open stations at certain time intervals according to a timetable. Those who come first will have to wait for their colleagues. Those who are late will not be allowed to continue. At each station, riders will receive a map of the route leading them to the next station.

The first annual 24-hour bike ride will end at the courtyard of Plzeňský Prazdroj. Lunch and the nonalcoholic beer Birell will be served to all participants at the restaurant Na Spilce.

„It is not every day that so many Harley Davidson bikes come together in one place. Therefore, we are very happy that they will end their ride at our brewery. We have prepared the nonalcoholic beer Birell for the riders to remind ourselves that alcohol does not belong behind the wheel, or in this case, handles,“ said Tomáš Raboch of Plzeňský Prazdroj Comp.
