Spartans will get a real workout during the Spartan race

Sparta’s hockey players Karel Pilař, Adam Polášek, Jan Piskáček, and David Dvořáček brace themselves for truly bitter moments. As a team “Radegast – HC Sparta Praha,” they will take part in the extreme Reebok Spartan race in Liberec on Saturday, May 31. Racers will face 3.5 miles of terrain with several tough obstacles, such as crawling through the mud and pulling a heavy object. If they place among the first three teams, they may look forward to 400 Radegast beers, which they will give away to their fans. The race starts at 9 a.m. in the arena Liberec – Vesec.

“I think that this will test our conditioning very well. I am sure we will sweat a lot and get very dirty, but we will not give up. It is definitely the best enrichment of our summer training,” said HC Sparta player Praha Karel Pilař.

Spartans will enter into this race of obstacles under the name “Radegast – HC Sparta Praha.” “Radegast is the official partner of the hockey extraleague and the Spartan Race series. Both are competitions for tough men, so we decided to join. Who else is better suited for the Spartan Race contest than Sparta?” said a smiling Karel Kraus, marketing manager of Radegast. Radegast decided to award a special prize for the players if they place among the first three. “In case we step onto the winners’ box, it will go to our fans. We will definitely find an occasion to get those 400 beers to them,” added Pilař.
