The rapid growth in exports of the Pilsner
Urquell brand, the best selling Czech beer abroad, led to the construction
of a new export warehouse on the site of the Pilsen brewery. An investment
totalling CZK 85 million was necessary for the new storage area,
operational in May this year. The layout of the space, where construction
started last October, is based on the same logistic model as the other
seven newly-built warehouses in the sales and distribution centres of
Plzensky Prazdroj, a.s. The warehouse, with an area of 4,500 m2 and a
height of 7.5 m, holds 5,500 pallets, i.e. 33,000 hl of beer. The new
building is linked directly to an upgraded export bottling line and also
to a kegging line. Besides, a new access road to the warehouse will be
built for trucks.
