Pilsner Fest will not take place this year

20.9.2006 Pilsner Urquell

Having carefully considered all circumstances, mainly those connected with the construction of the new packaging hall and the related safety measures at the brewery site, Plzensky Prazdroj decided to refrain from holding this year’s Pilsner Fest at the turn of September and October. A new form of the festival will be introduced in 2007.

“It was not an easy decision for us. However, the construction of the most modern packaging house in Central Europe worth a billion of crowns significantly affects the movements at the brewery. Unfortunately, excavations and supplies of construction materials block some roads that served as emergency exits in the past. In this situation we would have to restrict the number of person at the site. But this would probably mean leaving thousands of dissatisfied customers behind the gates,” says Michal Kacena, Corporate Affairs Director of Plzensky Prazdroj.

Last year, approximately 40 000 persons visited Pilsner Fest and the number of visitors shows a rising trend. Plzensky Prazdroj wants to continue with organizing Pilsner Fest and will introduce its new form next year.
