Prazdroj employees will receive beer for Gambrinus anniversary beyond the terms of collective agreement

22.7.2009 Company

Beer for employees is one of the most popular benefits, and the current collective agreement* in Plzeňský Prazdroj provides the employees a 300 CZK increase compared to the previous period. Employees now receive a voucher for beer valued at 2500 CZK.
On the occasion of the 140th anniversary of the founding of Gambrinus brewery, the company management decided to go over this limit and reward the employees with more beer. Each employee gets 6 cartons of 8 beers.

“Gambrinus of Plzeň is a phenomenon in the history of beer brewing, and all employees of Plzeňský Prazdroj contribute to its success every day, each doing his part according to their abilities. We want to thank them all and to reward them this way. They will receive the best-selling Czech 11-degree beer, Gambrinus 11° Excelent, as a pleasant holiday surprise at the turn of July and August,” says Ivan Balogh, corporate affairs and human resources director of Plzeňský Prazdroj.

“I appreciated that during the celebrations of the anniversary of the Gambrinus brand, the company remembered the employees that contribute through their work to the production and promotion of the golden drink with a 140-year tradition. I believe this will become a habit also at the other brands in Plzeňský Prazdroj’s portfolio. The employees certainly deserve it for their perfect work and relationship with the brewery,”
Bohumír Matas, Plzeňský Prazdroj labor union chairman comments on the bonus.

*Note: The current collective agreement valid until March 31 2010 directs the bonus-increasing resources especially towards the area of benefits. All employees receive contributions towards health care, relaxation or medicine and food supplements in the form of monetary vouchers also valued at 2500 CZK. Around 350 employees performing hazardous work will continue to receive vouchers for healthcare goods and health services valued at 1500 CZK a year.

The collective agreement and benefits were also covered in press release available HERE.
